i tunes could not back up iphone because a session could not be started with the iphone. I get this on my new 4s whether I try syncing wirelessly or wired. I am not new to itunes, have over 20gb of music alone. My 3g if music

itunes could not back up iphone because a session could not be started with the iphone (4s) this has prevented syncing since before xmas. I get this error whether trying to sync wired or wirelessly. my 3g iphone worked fine before the upgrade. Did I set it up wrong? I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

You did try quitting iTunes, restarting the iPad and restarting the computer .... Correct?

Sorry, but I didn't see iPhone and I should have. You are in the iPad forum, but the steps would be the same for the phone or the iPod anyway.

If you read this before you try again, you might want to try another USB port on the laptop as well.

Didn't even see your last post. Sorry about that. But I am happy that you got the issues resolved. The restarts did the trick then?

Its no big deal about posting in the wrong forum. Much of the basic iOS information applies to the iPhone the iPad and the iPad Touch anyway, so many times the questions can be answered in any of the three forums.
