Why do I get "Invalid URL" / "404 - Not Found" notifications on both MacBook and iPhone?

This happens only on my home wifi network, and only to selective sites--usually Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, and, most recently and most annoyingly, Google. It happens on both Chrome and Firefox on my computer, as well as Safari on my iPhone and the apps for those sites.

This happens to all my family's Mac devices. Our network is unsecured (very stupid, I know--it's a long story involving my very tech-unsavvy and stubborn parents).

Restarting my computer, clearing my cache, using secure connections doesn't help at all. The strangest result is sometimes it won't just give me an error message, I'll be directed to another site in entirely--usually MySpace, Yahoo!, and sometimes some weird Swedish fashion blog.

Please help, this is very very very frustrating as sometimes I am blocked from a certain site for hours at a time.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
