what key settings should i have in order to get a midi signal from my audiophile(which i have my keyboard connected to)? This is definitely a settings issue not wiring.

can't seem to get a signal when i play my keyboard. i know this is not a wiring issue because it worked on my old computer (before the hard drive died)....trying to set up logic 9 which i just downloaded from app store. what should the "environment" look like? certain midi in out settings? sorry i am a newbie and my friend set it up last time i did this.

basic set up here- not sure what the problem is....keys go to small mixer which goes to audiophile and then to usb port of my computer....so i need to to something to the clicks and port settings?

Actually you don't need to do anything, Logic should work with a MIDI keyboard as is.

The keyboard USB cable plugs directly into the Mac's USB port.

You might want to list what kind of keyboard you have as some of them need "drivers" to work.

i have a korg sp-100.....just not getting a signal when i play.....shouldn't be a problem - same setup i used for years.....i was fooling around with clicks and ports and midi instruments- maybe that did something strange

Back to MIDI,one thing at a time. What do you have the MIDI cables hooked up to?

MIDI Out from the Keyboard to MIDI IN of the MIDI Interface.

Does the MIDI Interface show up in Utilities / Audio-MIDI-Setup (under the MIDI tab)

What make/model is the MIDI interface

Regardless of any other problems you may have, this is the reason there's no MIDI input.

This is an Audio And MIDI Interface... correct?

What Mac Operating system are you on? 10.6.8, 10.7, 10.8 ....etc?

You need and Audio MIDi driver...

Select (on the left) USB Audio Series

then Audiophile USB

You will see the latest Mac OS supported is 10.7.2

Hopefully that driver will work for you.
