Apps installed on iPhone are not there

After syncing purchased apps from my iPad to iTunes, I synced to my iPhone. There were to apps that we're synced and said "installed". I cannot find them on the iPhone on iTunes or iPhone. I have tried say three plus times to do this with no success. Please advise.... iPad and iPhone 4s
