how do i remove my password

Hi - very excited bringing home my Bose Soundlink Air speaker - can't get it to work - iTunes on iMac and iPhone sees speaker, nothing happens, doesn't play... problem? can it not connect to my wi-fi becase I it is p/w protected? is my old airport extreme too old to handle new hardware? Help!
