What is the F7 or the two screens on the macbook with no marking with a double screen?

I have the top function key F7 with 2 screens. My daughter has a macbook with the screen not working. I want to use an external monitor for her computer. Her F keys are not the same. She does not have the double screen on her F7. Which F key if any is the one to use. Thanks
