how do i edit my pictures on my pc that were downloaded from my iphone4S???

i downloaded some pictures taken by my iphone 4S to my pc, windows 7 operating system, but I can't rotate any pictures so i can see them upright. So annoying, errrrrrrr I tried downloading photo stream from apple, but it doesn't have that capability, I think. Is there anything else that I can download or do so I can rotate this picture. My computer won't even let me copy the iphone picture and then edit it either. Not sure if Apple really thought this out clearly, how can they completely overlook this problem?????? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated, please and thank you, Don
