Apple updated iWork for iOS in order to improve its compatibility with Microsoft Office and iWork for Mac. Also, iWork for Mac was updated. That update allows you to use documents created with iWork for Mac on the latest version of iWork for iOS. You can install those updates without worrying about anything, because you should install all the updates

    I cannot update these. When I click update I get this message:Screen Shot 2013-01-05 at 11.33.56 PM.pngPlus

it's for ios 7.1 which does not exist. This is on my mac. not on my ios devices. logging into other apple id's does not change the message.

I told you that it's a compatibility update to use the documents created on iWork for Mac with iWork for iOS, so it's not an iOS update. Also, 7.1 refers to the iWork for iOS version, not for the iOS version

First, see > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4236 If it doesn't work, open App Store > Featured > Account (under Quick Links) > Show hidden purchases, and show Numbers and Pages, so you will be able to update those programmes.

If this doesn't work, contact with the Mac App Store support > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact

Thank you for your help. I do not see any hidden purchases. Pages and Numbers are not listed in my purchases at all, though I did purchase them with this compouter and with this account. I will try the support link.

In that case, something strange happens with your Apple ID. We can't do anything more for you, but the Mac App Store support should fix your problem

This has happened before with these apps. I don't think it was for an ios that hadn't been released, and I can't remember the fix for it. I ended up speaking with a tech, and got it resolved. This may be a similar issue.

I have a feeling it's something very simple here. Like you being logged into Mac App Store with a different Apple ID than the one you originally used to purchase these apps for in iTunes or your iOS device.

Time to check with iTS to see what you did with what account....

Actually all three iWork apps show in the Mac App Store (MAS) as providing compatibility for iWork for iOS v.1.7, which is the version of each of the iWork apps (1.7.1)  currently sold in the iTunes App Store. The updates do not state that they are for iOS 7.1, which you are correct, has not been released as we are at iOS v.6.0.1 and v.6.0.2, depending on which iOS device(s) one may have.

I am logged into the stores with the correct id.

If you look at my screenshot, it specifically says"Pages 4.3: adds support for IOS 7.1. - Numbers 2.3: adds support for IOS 7.1. ".

I am in touch with apple support, but it's slow as molasses this month. I emailed them the night I started this thread. It takes a day per email, asking the same questions I've already answered. I think the next email may have some useful information.

    Oh well...

    Thanks for your help guys!
