I received Millenia speakers for xmas via the apple online store. They were dead on arrival. I have the receipt and its within the 14 day return policy. Can I take them to my local apple store?

You could certainly get them replaced from the local Apple store. Make sure you get a dated receipt for your returned goods if they do not have stock for an immediate replacement.

If you want money back (which I doubt they would do) you may be liable for some kind of re-stocking fee. Problem here is the means used for the original payment.

Why not call the store and ask?

Clarification: you can return them to the Apple Store, but not have them replaced. Most apple stores will not carry this product, so you would have to re-order them on apple.com (or buy whatever the Apple Store happens to carry).

Also, Apple no longer charges restocking fees, and they will return money to the card that purchased the speakers if you have that card number handy.
