imac won't recognise cd-r

I have been given a cd-r disc with jpeg images on it, and the mac doesn't recognise the disc. It does open on a windows computer (man i hate that), please help

Hello,


Have you got any other discs that you could test to make sure the Drive is working correctly. Either the drive is faulty or the disc is formatted to Windows Computers. Unfortuanately, you cannot change the format of the disc because all of the content on the disc will be erased. The person that gave you the disc would have to take it back to their computer, format it to ExFat format, or another Mac readable format (Such as FAT-32), and reload the images back onto the disc.


Both ExFat and FAT-32 are readable in both Windows and Mac OS X, which means you can open it anywhere.
