Apple Store Pick Up holding time(s) for multiple products

Hello,

I'd like to know how long does Apple keep products in the store when you choose to pick it up in person. I'm looking to purchase a MacBook Pro Retina and a few other smaller items, but the dates are all seperate for pick up. I will only be in NYC for a few days, which could pose a problem. I tried searching numerous places and could not find a definite answer, only thing I know of is that they only keep iPhone's for one day if I read correctly.

I'm just curious for future reference, when I do go ahead with the purchase .. whether or not I should ship or pick up.
