Canon MG3155 claims to be airprint ready but my iPad won't find the printer - help!

Bought a Canon MG3155 printer which claims to be airprint compatible - it will print photos using Canon IEPP App but won't 'find' the printer for any other type of printing - which is ironically exactly what i wish to print. So frustrating! If anyone is able to help I would be so grateful.

iPad, iOS 6

Just to say, in case anyone else has the same problem, I have now managed to solve this by downloading a firmware upgrade .....having viewed a number of other posts on similar subjects in the forum and it worked immediately and perfecty!
