10.4.11 will not update
my macbook 10.4.11 osx will not update to mountain liion states that i need to be on 10.6.00 prior to moving forward

If you're running Tiger on a MacBook(this is true for some MacBook Pros too), your system is incapable of running Mountain Lion.
