Q: can't upgrade from iPhoto 9.1.5 to 9.2.3

I am trying to purchase a photo book that I've created in iPhoto. When I click "Buy Book" the order screen comes up, but there is a message to update to the latest version of iPhoto. I clicked the "Learn More" link to find out what version is the latest (9.2.3). I checked in the about iPhoto menu to see what version I am running and it is 9.1.5. I searched for software updates, then installed them. I am still getting the "update to latest version" message on the Buy Book tab, so I re-checked under the about iPhoto menu and it did not update. I had this problem with an iTunes update about 6 months ago- it took about 6 tries to update. 

 

Any advice?

    How old is your Mac? If it's very recent you need to update via the App Store

     

    If you purchased at the App Store you need to update via the App Store

     

    Otherwise you update via Softare Update

     

    If you have moved iPhoto from the default location (i.e. into a Folder) then the updater won't find it. Move it back.

     

    If you have renamed iPhoto, the updater won't find it. Change it back.

    My Mac is three years old.

    I immediately update whenever there is a new version of any software.

    I did not rename iPhoto.

    I did not move it from the original default location..

     

     

    My impression is that while updating iTunes something happened .

    Why it appears "other" with more than 200 gb in the iPhoto library out a total of 250 gb?

     

    Is it possible to see what is inside the iPhoto library different from pictures?

    Or the pictures have been duplicated many times ?

    Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.

    So I did already. I only found the usual pictures. No traces of "other" content hints....

    It is something like 250?gb!!!!

    What size was the iPod Photo Cache folder in your library?
