Wifi says it is fully connected, however it cannot connect to the internet

I've only had my mac book air for a few months and suddenly the wifi is fully connected, but the no web browsers can connect to the internet. Interestingly enough Apple would like $80 to TROUBLESHOOT the issue. I love the functionalities mac has to offer, but it is definitely deteriorating very quickly. Has anyone else ran into this issue and was able to successfully fix it?
