Mac Pro (2008) Kernel Panic Mountain Lion

Question

Hello everyone, if anyone could help it be great. Okay so i have a Mac Pro 3,1 (2008) that im trying to hang on too because it runs great otherwise then these pesky kernal panics i get every couple of weeks or some times every couple of days or so. It is upgraded to everyting i can think of and im hoping i can keep it for another few years before apple drops support for it 😟. Okay so has a PCIe SSD card from mac sales (also the boot drive) in it and i did recently install a driver they relesed, but i cant rember if i was haveing this problem before or not... Dang. But it also has 3 harddrives raided togeather using apple software raid im guessing it has somting to with one of the two because in the kernal pacnic report it says dependency: com.apple.driver.DiskImages is in its backtrace and from my knowledge that means it was from that extention?? 😕.. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Okay its been 15 days since my last panic, and magically my disk utility started working right when i uninstalled Intego Virus Barrier. Must not be good software... But thank you for the help!!

After doing much research I thought Mac OSX Mountain Lion could easily accept PC cards.As you saw, this is the one:  Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560, PCIe, 1024 MBThe ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT, ATI Radeon HD 2600, PCIe, 256 MB was the original card which I though could co-exist to run seperate monitors.Are you saying that they cannot co-exist and removing the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT, ATI Radeon HD 2600, PCIe, 256 MB will solve the problem or are you also saying that the GeForce GTX 560 will always cause me problems?Just a side note, this configuation is 100% stable in WIndows 7 64 Bit Bootcamp partition. Not one crash. I see your credentials and your opinion is helpful.Thank you

yes ML can use many though maybe not all GTX cardsthe 2600XT are really crummy, use to be a warranty replacement, and 5 yr old card that does not fully support ML as I see it. Try without and keep it handy if you must. A 5770 would drive 3 displays and GTX 680 EVGA has a Mac Edition. And we seem to see more Nvidia driver support - often requiring you to wait when Apple pushes an update and to see if Nvidia has one you need to install first. when  upgrading to ML and to insure you don&#x27;t bring along old code from SL and before a clean installl helps insure there are no gremlinsthe 3,1 use to be the most problematic with ML in the past though seems better with 10.8.3+For co-existence some would go with Apple ATI 5770 and if need CUDA then GTX 570 2.5GB VRAM is good and popular. MacVidCards will flash and sells GTXs and seems that after a few years it is also common for many of those GTX cards to give up and die. Windows does make it easier to choose a card, grab drivers, and run 7  or 8 freely (though 8 is not supported on 3,1 by Apple and Microsoft due in part to it also having first edition UEFI EFI64. I think it helps to not "me to" and tag onto old threads of someone else who could make it closed and solved or award points etc, so you can get fresh input with your own thread.
