Off-line Beta SP back to Online High Res???

Off-line Beta SP back to Online High Res???

I've been told that only in AVID can you capture from BETA SP and offline, then go back ONLINE using reference files to a high res. output. Can this be done in Final Cut Pro? If so, how?

iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.4.2), FCP 5.0.4

File -> Media Manager.

Better still. If you have the a capture device and drives that can handle it, you can just edit uncompressed and not worry about offline / online.

The option for "Create Offline" is like an Avid decompose. It will create a new sequence and new clips, permitting you to recapture the media at your new higher res.
