Sim Balance in Ipad2

recently got an iPad2 with 3G and Wi-Fi. I even inserted a micro SIM into the device. I have a prepaid data plan on my SIM card. How do I check the remaining balance on my SIM card since there is no dial pad in the iPad2? On a phone, I dial *123*10# to check the balance. Is there a downloadable dialpad for the iPad2? Also, is it possible to view text messages in the SIM on the iPad?

I use my carrier's online portal to check my usage. Have a look at their website and see if it offers a data used or available balance.

Alternatively, you can go into Settings >> General >> Usage >> Mobile Usage to see how much data you've used and also reset it to help keep track.

You can send texts on your iPad, using apps such as iMessage or Text Me, but you can't dial out.
