please help ( Apple MacBook Pro user)

Hi apple, I'm a new buyer of your device , pls tell me this why i can't play media files like wma on mac pro ? i have file downloaded which automatically categorized by may mac pro with (wma) . But while i try to open that file its says can't open. please help me . i have already buy the software which suits all the media file extentions ..
