I am having the same problem on a brand new MacPro, so been trawling the webs for days now, looking for a solution to no avail.

This is my two cents and for what it's worth I have no crystal ball telling me otherwise.

I lot of customers are in the same boat. Also I would guess Apple or the community we be able to fix this soon. Just seems an important part on OSX going forward and I wouldn't think they would want to lose users to Skype(Microsoft). Fingers remain crossed this will be fixed soon?

Hi,

Exactly what have you tried ?

Checked your Serial Number is present ?

If like me you have a limited number of emails to link to Apple IDs but have created some for iChat testing and later removed the confirmation email you may find you can't use an @mac.com or @me.com name that is longer linked to an External email Address.
