I am Naresh Bathula using IPhone 3GS 4.2.1 version.the problem is i am not the Inbuilt option of Software update in my phone..

How can i update the My iphone

iOS 4 does not include over the air updates.

If you have a 3GS, you can update it to 6.0.1 using the instructions you linked from (See the section on updating using iTunes) If you have a 3G, 4.2.1 is the end of the line. It can not be updated beyond that point.
