My ipod classic shows a error message and is locked.This game cannot be launched. no idea what this means as I never played games on it?

My ipod classic is locked and does not turn off ! it displays a message on svreen as "This game cannot be launched"

As I have never played any game on it I am at a loss as what is wrong with it. Any suggestions?

It does not connect to iTunes. so I cannot restore it.

It cannot be switched off, as the button slides to show the red section. but still it stays on.
