i have just brought a new mac
set myself and partner up as two sepertae users
how can i send music from my itunes over to his itunes?
i undertsand i cant go directly into his user account, but believe there is somewhere i can send them?

Since its the same machine, copy the music over to an external disk/USB drive and have him copy them from there into his iTunes ... because music files are big files.
ok, i will give that ago, however i am not even able to select more than one album then drag and drop it. i cant get use to the way the trackpad works?
is there anywhere i can watch step by step videos of this.
really finding it hard going on a mac, i feel like ive never used a computer before 😟

At the top level of the boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name), there's a folder called "Users." All the home folders are in that folder. Each one has the respective user's short name. Open the other user's home folder. Inside it there should be a folder called "Drop Box." This has nothing to do with the "DropBox" application. It's a write-only folder into which you can copy files that the other user will be able to retrieve.

Look for "Macintosh HD" in the sidebar of a Finder window.
You're not dragging to the right place, or I haven't understood your description. Are we talking about another user on the same computer, or a user on another computer? If the former, the instructions I gave above should work.
Right I am with u, I have the drop box I front of me.
So how do I go back to my music so I can drop it there?
Can you open finder again in another window or what?

Open another Finder window by pressing the key combination command-N. In that window, navigate to the items you want to copy, then drag them to the other window.
