windows 8 and the i phone

My laptop wont connect to my wi fi hotspot on my i phone 4. I have recently upgraded the laptop to windows 8 but connect ed fine to the hotspot with same laptop when using windows 7. The laptop sees the i phone on the wi fi but wont connect it does however connect via the usb cable?? Can anyone help please
