I have authorized my computer and music shows up on it when I have iTunes open, but still will not download songs to my ipod. Any suggestions?

I have authorized my ipod to sync with my computer, but it still will not sync the songs from the past that are on itunes. Any ideas how to correct this and download the songs? thanks, Corinne M

I have authorized my computer to work with my ipod. I have ran a sync and it did put music I copied to my computer to the ipod. The thing it will not do is download music I bought from iTunes in the past. It just acts like they are not there.
