The problem started from my iPod not charging. After this I thought I would just reset it by holding down the menu and center button. After doing this the iPod wouldn't turn back on which I thought oh the battery is dead so I put it on charge at the wall and nothing for 30 mins. So I try on my computer and still nothing. I have had the iPod for 2 years so I am presuming the iPod is out its warranty. Any suggestions?

Hi Mitch, I got my iPod on. But it doesn't seem to be charging. It's like its only using the power to stay alive while its plugged in. Like an iPad when you plug it in a laptop and it says not charging. None of my computers recognize it. It's useless..... Any suggestions?
I had exactly the same problem unless I plugged my iPod Classic straight into the USB on my Mac. I solved it by searching the house and finding my original Apple charger and lead that came with my iPod when I bought it and it works perfectly. I can only assume that later USB leads and/or chargers are wired to the old Apple style iPod connecter in a slightly different way.
If you are using a window PC, then try to find a Mac or vice versa.
By the way have you tried to change the iPod cable ?
HI Mitch, I have tried both my iPod and iPad cables and still nothing. I tried plugging it in my friends imac and still nothing.
Have you tried to put it in Disk Mode ? Not sure the latest iPod supports Disk mode
