how do i sync old my iphone on a new macbook air?

I have an old iphone 3G and want to sync it on my new Macbook Air.

Can I just hook it up and sync or is everything on my old phone going to be erased?

I just bought a new iphone 5 but want to sync the old 3 first.

Thank you

If you still have access to the Old computer you used to Sync to...

and to have EVERYTHING as it is Now...

From your OLD computer...

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

An Added Bonus is that you will have a Backup of iTunes.

If not...
