I, just yesterday, bought iPhoto 11. I am attempting to create a slideshow and want to include a video. The video is in iPhoto and will play independently of the slideshow, however, the video won't play audio or video within the slideshow. I altered some of the slideshow settings and the individual slide settings to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening or how to remedy this?

How are you viewing your slideshow? On Apple TV? Then probably the problem is, that your video format is not Apple TV compatible.
Nope, I haven't even gotten that far. It wont play the video within the slideshow IN iPhoto. I tried to preview and then to play the slideshow and the video won't play. However, I double-click on the slide (the video) within the slideshow and it will play. Basically, my videos will play just fine except when put into a slideshow sequence, all I get when the slideshow plays (or even previews) is black screen for however long the video ought to be. Is this making sense?

What is the slideshow theme you are using and what settings? For me all videos are playing fine in the slideshow. What kind of videos? How are they encoded? Are the videos very short, so that no transitions are possible? Very short videos play best in the "Classic" theme.
I was using Ken Burns with no transition. The video was taken on my iPhone, so, I was assuming it would be compatable. It's only about 78 seconds. I'll try with classic and see if that helps.

I just realized I credited my own post with solving my problem... I'm so sorry! Changing the theme did help (why I didn't try this initially, I don't know, feelin' a little like a moron). I don't know how to take the "this solved my question" back and attribute it to you... Again, I appologize.
