Power On Self-Test Beep Definition - Part 2
Means you have a problem with your RAM. Either it has failed or the slots have failed. The "idiot guide?" Take it in for service.

I need the "idiot guide" because I do not understand what a RAM is and why it has failed! I happily use the Mac, but know very little about it!
I'm sure your right and I will take it for a service.
Thanks

Jan 7, 2013 2:09 PM in response to julie robinsonby Kappy,It typically means that the memory modules installed are non-functional. This could be because the memory modules have failed or the slots in which they are installed have failed or the motherboard has failed. Usually, the problem is with the memory modules which are easily replaced. But if it's not the memory modules then the problem is more difficult and more expensive to repair.

Jan 7, 2013 2:19 PM in response to Kappyby julie robinson,Thanks again - That gives me hope
I looked at the two slots at the bottom of the mac and blew some dust away.
Would it be worth me trying the other slot? I realise I may be asking a ridiculous question, but is this worth a try?
