Keynote: Turn off auto-resize?

My text is auto-resizing (shrinking) if it fills the text box. How can I turn this off?

thank you!

read page 53 of the user manual and try these options

- Double-click the clipping indicator at the bottom of the text box.

- In the format bar, select the checkbox labeled “Auto-shrink.”

- Hold down the Control key while clicking the text box, and choose “Auto-shrink Text.”

- In the Text inspector, select the checkbox labeled Automatically Shrink Text.

I have exactly the same problem as brooklynhcdesign (latest Keynote version), and I tried all that you listed, but the problem is that all these options cannot be selected -- they are either not available or greyed out. Curiously, the Auto-Shrink checkbox is NOT selected anywhere, but still Keynote shrinks the text in the texbox as it pleases.

Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

I have been encountering the same problem.

This work around has been effective for me:

- select all text in box

- in the inspector, select the font size you want

at this stage, the font was not increasing beyond that font size, however shrinking the text box would still decrease font size

- in the inspector, go to text tab, then layout button

deselect "shrink text to fit"

all that said, it would be nice to have this be a one-step operation
