Hi I am a relative beginner I am using version 10.6.8 and mail 4.6 and I recently accidentally deleted my account details while setting up for anew interenet provider. When I re punched in the info I have lost all previous inbox and sent emails and I dont have a timemachine to go back. Is there a way to retrieve the email history?

You can also go to Home folder>mail, and check the mailboxes to see if you can find what your looking for. If not, try going to envelope index and it should be there, unforturnatly it will be listed as an .emlx, and you will have to sort thru manually, but it should be there. Hope this helps.

Your home folder is the one on you Mac HD that is your name/ home folder on your hard drive. Mone is Peter your's is what ever you named it.
The editor sometimes gets the text wierd. I meant to write mine.
