can I merge all of my aperture libraries into on so I don't have the repetition?

I am working with Aperature now because I outgrew the Iphoto application. I currently have more than 40k pics and they are in various formats from jpeg to dcim to NEF and I am feeling a bit out of sorts. I know I have repeats everywhere and I cannot get a handle on how to stop this.

I thought by getting the aperture and opening up multiple libaries it would make it easier, but I am finding out just the opposite as I have to remember which library I put the pics into and now I have 20 libraries in all.

I am looking to consolidate the libraries so I can make searching easier. Can anyone assist me or do I have to start the whole process again.

Lastly I will be importing another 3500 pictures and need to make it easier to distinguish between RAW and JPEG images after they are imported because my online sevices, ie., shutterfly, only works with JPEG.

Thanks,

Lance Harris

Good questiono for the aperture forum - while this iPhoto forum has some Aperture users the major discussions are in their own forum
