Home button fails to respond. Any suggestions on fixing it?

If there is Warranty or AppleCare take to Apple. Repair steps are replace home button flex cable. If still problem, replace charging dock with flex cable. If still problem, most likely logic board and there is no reasonable fix. You can also use Virtual Home button, Settings App > General > Accessibiltiy > Assistive Touch > ON > tap new white screen button > Home.
