I use Gmail. When I try to attach a photo from iPhoto I always get the entire iPhoto package. How do I get a single photo to attach?

Just to be clear, you've posted your topic in the iPhoto for iOS forum. Are you trying to email a picture from your iPhone or iPad? Or is this a question that should be in the iPhoto for iLife forum?

I am in a Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion. If I go into iPhoto and select one picture and attempt to mail it then it works fine. But if I have written an email and try to attach a picture the whole iPhoto section gets attached to the email.
This would occure if you are selecting "events" in the left source column of iPhoto. "Events" are a group of images. You would need to select "photos", and then click one photo.
Actually, I am the attachment feature in GMail and I click on "pictures" in the left column. The last time I used this feature (several weeks ago) it would bring up the iPhoto library and I could click on any one individual picture but now I get the whole library and no individual choice.
Ah, so it sounds like an issue with the GMail interface, maybe not iPhoto itself? Which version of iPhoto are you using? Which web browser are you using?

Try this.....
Go to your gmail web mail page, and create a new email. When the window opens to allow you to locate an image on your computer, scroll to the very bottom of that window. You should see an area entited "media", and listed below it is pictures.
It sounds like you are going to iPhoto, not to "media", which is they way it would work in web mail.

Trying to find the "media" I went into iPhoto Preferences and found the "media" block was not checked. When I checked it and went back to gmail and clicked on attachment the "media" then appeared and I was able to attach one picture at a time to the email. Thanks for your comments.
Well, I may have spoke too soon. When I click on the picture in the "attachment" mode of the gmail the "logo" of the photo appears in the right place on the email but when you click on the "logo" the picture will not open.
Any other thoughts?
Sorry, but I am not sure I am understanding. Can you try this and post the results. Launch safari. Go into the top menu bar, and select "view" and then "as icons". Go to your Gmail web mail site, and create a new test email. In the "To" area, put in your personal email address, then attempt to add a photo, ensuring you go to the "media area", and look for an iPhoto image. If you find an image, attach it, then send this email back to yourself.
When they email comes in, ensure that it show you have an attachement on it.
I could not find the "as icons" in the view section of the top menu bar. But after testing some more I was able to get the single picture to go onto an email and sent it to my self and it worked so I guess everything is ok.
