Q: problems with iPhoto 11

for the past month, I've been getting message that my iphoto library contains inconsistancies and need to be repaired.  Then while repairing the whole thing freezes.  Then I have to shut down and restart and start all over again. And again, and again, and again.

Been to the Apple Store 3 times. They kept my MacBook Pro for a week and still, the problem is not resolved.

Thinking that the problem might be with eh HD, I had a new one installed. That did not help the situation.

Also, after updating to Mountain Lion, my EHD is no longer recognized.  Bought a new - same thing, then I had to get another brand.

I need help since the geniuses at my local Apple Store could not fix the problem.
