Can a 2012 Mac Pro use a 2012 27in iMac as a primary display?

Greetings all,


I am trying to spec out a trade show configuration. It will have a Mac Pro, A couple iMacs, a few Macbook Pros

and a couple iPads. What I need to know is if one of the iMacs can serve as the display for the Mac pPro. The money

is not an issue, but the number of cases to be shipped might be problematic.


Once again, this is NEW hardware 2012 iMac and 2012 Mac pro.


Any advice sent my way would be useful.

Unfortunately currently no because the current Mac Pro's do not support Thunderbolt output which is the only method to use the current iMac's in Target Display Mode. However you can get external displays such as the Apple LED display that can be used as an external display for the Mac Pro and an iMac.
