How do I properly transfer my iTunes Media specifically TV, Movies, & Music to my external hard drive. & then properly erase off my hard disk.?On mac lion and 11.0.1(12) itunes?

Quit iTunes.
Drag the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder to the external.
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder on the external.
Delete /Music/iTunes/ folder.
