podcast episode description missing in iOS6

In the old iOS you were able to see the description for each individual podcast. I listen to NPR's Most E-Mailed Stores podcast often and like to see what the different stories in the episode are. I can see the podcast description (e.g., this is NPR's Most Emailed Stories!) - but not the contents of each individual episode (e.g., 1. Big fish caught in the lake! 2. Financial Meltdown. etc...). Is there a setting that I'm missing? Or was this feature removed in iOS6? On my old iPod Classic I can still see the episode description.

ETA: I checked in iTunes and there is text in the description field for each podcast episode. So the question is how do I make this episode description visible? I'm using the regular Podcast app that comes with iOS 6.0.2 on the iPhone 5.

I have the exact same issue, and it bugs me. If you look under the 'Get Info' option in iTunes (right-click > get info), or if you have the colum 'Description' shown, it's packed with information. When you look at the the 'info' of the pod cast (what zombi3g refers to as clicking the blue arrow), I get some information about the file (type, when added, file size, duration, etc.), and I can mark the episode as played/unplayed. But there is no description of the podcast. I have a 5th generation iPod Nano that I can view this info on, but not the iphone. Annoying. If anyone has a method that we don't know about to view this info, speak up!

I figured it out.

you have to go into each podcast settings, and turn on subscriptions! and then the description will show up for the episodes. This is still annoying, because it should not have been coded this way. all descriptions for an episode should be viewable without having the podcast subscriptions turned on. I turned off subscriptions, because it uses up my dataplan. Now i have to turn on subscription for any podcast that i want the descriptions. this app is really annoying.

Whilst I appreciate that yes, there is a place to see the podcast episode description, it now involves me hitting a button and going to a new screen, and then going back to play the episode. I use to just hit play episode and the description would be on the screen for me to read as it started playing.

Am I missing something, or did once again Apple change something that worked fine, only to make me do more work?
