How can I restore Quicken and other programs now that I installed Mountain Lion?

It seems like I have lost much of my documents and programs. The message I get is "Power PC Applications are no longer supported".

Any solutions??

MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.4/2.2 GHz), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Upgrade your software to be compatible with Mountain Lion, or try some of the stuff here:

Quicken 2007 for Lion/Mt.Lion upgrade $15 here:

It will directly accept your data from versions 2005, 2006 or 2007. If your data file is older, you need a PPC copy of Quicken 2006 or 2007, running with Rosetta, to update your data file first, and then the updated data file will work with the Quicken upgrade.

I was running Quicken 2006 when I got Lion, and now run 10.7.5. I switched to iBank last spring, which was a huge mistake. I hate it and want to switch back to Quicken. I seem to remember that there were a few steps to take to do that. Also, which Quicken for Mac version is best? Also, should I upgrade to Mountain Lion to do any of this?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Shari:

Purchase Quicken 2007 for Lion (now upgraded for Mountain Lion) from the Intuit website for $15:

This version will run on OS X 10.7.5 and should open your existing Quicken 2006 data file with no conversion necessary. You will probably have to go back and reenter your 2012 data that you had entered into iBank as I do not know of any way to short circuit this step from iBank.

You do not need to upgrade to Mountain Lion for any of this. My attitude is that I will not upgrade to Mt. Lion until there is some reason that requires me to do so, and in my computer usages, that reason has not presented itself. I happily continue to use Lion.
