Where does itunes stores its files?

iMac OS 10.8.2, 24"

Apple store did a clean install. I am unable to recover iPhoto nor iTunes files. I have a daily backup but when I try to restore iTunes I get a message that can't restore because it is an Apple product. In my Library folder, neither Library nor Application folder has an iPhoto file and the only iTunes folder has a plug-in. I do have a backup on my iPad but I don't know how to transfer/import taht into my iMac.

I also tried the Apple Store to check if they store my purchases and could download them.

My questions:

1. Where does iTunes store music downloads?

2. Where does iPhoto store the photos?

3. How can I transfer/download photos and music files from my iPad?

iMac (24-inch Early 2008), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

  1. Open a Finder window
  2. In Finder's sidebar click your user account
  3. Locate the Music Folder inside your user account
  4. Locate the iTunes.Library in your user account.

Perhaps this article will provide some insight, if you still cannot locate it then I'd recommend either a trip to the local Apple Store to talk to a Genius who can show you or calling AppleCare.
