Kernal Panic logs ... Help Please

Hi all,

I have been getting a few kernel Panics just lately and i don't have a clue when it comes to panic logs.

Can you give me any pointers to what may be the problem?

It looks like an airport or networking problem (mbuf memory buffers, are used by networking drivers).

Well, you may try the repairing permissions, resetting Airport, checking your wireless, router etc...

Can you give more info about your wireless connection? Also turn off the Airport and try to connect via ethernet and check if you still have kernel panics

I have a friend with a new MBP (less than 1 week old).

When on WIFI at the office, frequent Kernal Panics with the "mbuf address" in the Console's Panic logs.

He's KP'd once at home while on WIFI since testing.

While on ethernet, he's rock solid in both locations.

We're contemplating a trip to the local Genius Bar soon. What do y'all think?

i had the same problem. you may be fine if you connect via ethernet all the time, but that defeats the purpose of the AirPort card & wireless in general. when mine showed up, it crashed durring registration and probably 15 or so times the first few days.

send it back if you're in the 14 day return period. after a very helpful support call and a few emails, mine is headed back tomorrow.

hope this helps

Followup to 5/25 post:
Took it to local Genius Bar and the machine was DOA'd by Genius. Repair was fast <5 days including shipping and first-time mac buyer friend is a happy camper now.

1 lesson: He bought build to order (BTO) over the web, and Apple Retail will not replace due to inventory difference. Still the repair via shipping was fast.
