FileVault

Is using "FileVault" enough encryption to prevent my Mac from becoming a "Zombie", or is that only something PC user have to worry about?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

At the moment there is no malware in the wild that turns a Mac into a Zombie.

But FileVault (basically whole disk encryption) is not the reason, as PCs also have whole disk encryption software available to them, and that does not stop malware.

What whole disk encryption does is prevent someone from stealing your Mac and gaining access to your data when the system is shutdown.
