How can I delete an event I was invited to?

My husband incorrectly entered an event, and now instead of every tuesday until the end of February, the event is appearing every day until the end of February. I was able to delete it on my desktop, but it is still in the iCal in my phone and I can't delete it. I tried turning iCloud off and telling it to delete all my data, but when I turned iCloud back on again, it reappeared, still incorrect. When I select the item, there is no option to edit or delete on my phone. Thanks!
