how do i delete a movie while it is loading on my ipod?

Went to rent a movie over the weekend, its tuesday and it has yet to download. Sliding my finger over the movie title doesnt work because the delete button never shows up. Plus, the movie expired even though i hadnt started to watch it... dont know what to do but i need this off my ipod, it's draining the battery.
