laptop heats up very quickly and the fan is extremely loud?

Ive had my Mac for just over a year, but in the last few months the fan has got very loud and the laptop will become hot to touch with a few minutes even when laid on a hard surface, and the problem i think is getting slowly worse. I have also recently updated the software, any advice? or if this is normal? or do i need to take it to be looked at. thanks x

Download from the Internet iStat Pro. It will shown you the internal temperatures and fan speeds that your MBP generates. Also look at Activity Monitor with 'All Processes' selected and note any applications that may be using a lot of the CPU%.


Post back indicating the applications that are open and the temperatures that iStat pro shows.
