iPad 1 with iOS 5.1.1 rebooting over and over again

I have an iPad 1 with iOS 5.1.1, which keeps on rebooting. Later it did not charge. I erased all data and setting and this solved the charging problem. Later I restored the iPad to factory state through iTunes and the rebooting problem was over for half day. Battery life also imporved. But by the evening the system started rebooting every 3 minutes.

Can anyone help. I have visited Apple Care and they seem to be having no solution.

This usually happens if the phone has been Hacked / Jailbroken / Modified...

Is this the case...?

If so... Then... Sorry... But...

No, i have not jailbroken the device. It is very much in its original state. Also even after restoring it to factory state the problem remains.

There has been no unauthorised modification to the iOS.

Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...

have been to the Authorised Apple Service Provider. No help. They just kept on fiddling with the iPad for 3 days and returned without any solution. Infact, they went ahead and suggested that I should buy a new iPad as they are not able to get any solutions.

So much for AASP.
