Q: I bought a dell 24inch monitor, after being assured that it is compatible with my mac book pro.  I was trying it out with gotowebinar with a keynote '09 presentation and i couldn;t get the presentation to go on full screen to my viewers?

compatible with my mac book pro and keynote '09.  I tried to use keynote '09 with just my mac book pro screen and could not get both the control panal for gotowebinar and the full slideshow for keynote to show for the audience.  I thought it was a question of space so that is why i got the larger secondary monitor.  now the mouse is weird and won;t automatically go up to the secondary monitor and I can;t get the both the gotowebinar control panel and the slideshow up at the same time.  gotowebinar techs say that I should be able to put the control panel on the secondary monitor and keep the slideshow on the laptop screen but they were not able to help me figure that out...we tried all kinds of combinations in keynote preferences to no avail.  can anyone help? it is veyr frustrating...thanks, Myran

    Who assured you it was compatible? Did you bring your MBP with you to test it out? When you use a third-party monitor your are responsible for assuring that it will work for you. Sales people will tell you anything. Not even Dell will assure you their monitors work with Macs.

    There is nothing wrong with your Dell, it will work fine with any MacbookPro. I have been using Dell displays for over 12 years with many different Mac models. I have two 21" Ultra Sharp displays working side by side to design a Keynote presentation right now.

    The issue your having is with the way Keynote  takes control of the video output to both displays, it sends the presentation signal to one and the presenter display to the other, this is set up in;

    Keynote preferences > Presenter display.

    If you want to show a wesite or another app on  either display,  use application switcher:

    press the the  command key on the keyboard, then the tab key; a row of applications will show what applications are running, choose which one you want to show. Use command  > tab to return to Keynote.
