Safari Crashes plz help!!!

Hi, my MacBook Pro has been working the past 2 years and when I left it on for 20 minutes to go have lunch, I come back and safari crashed. I open it up again but this time it crashes finder and I have to force shut down my computer via the power button. After that I tried again 23 times with the exact same result and on the 24th restart the startup screen went blue and I had to enter safe mode to fix that issue. Because safari wont even START I have to use my iPod for this post and it will mean no error or crash reports, sorry :(

Thanks to anybody who can help cuz I really need my Internet :)

P.S MacBook Pro snow leopard 10.6.8 and every application is currently updated

No - just replaces the system - that's why I suggest it rather than a 'clean' install (reformatting your hard drive and making a 'clean' start of it).

Since you don't have a backup, it's the last thing to try...

Okay so on the disk it said press d on startup for a hardware test... Waiting for results then ill do the reinstallation

Put the Snow Leopard installation disc into the optical bay and either hold down the c key when starting up, or startup holding down the option key and you should be given two choices to boot from - your "Macintosh HD" or the optical disc.

I'm just curious, sorry :p but on the installation window it says "Installing Mac OS X on the disk "Macintosh HD"

Doesn't this mean anything inside of Macintosh HD gets deleted and replaced by fresh files. And wouldn't that mean all my files would get deleted? Thanks!

Nope - your files and all user data will remain intact - you'll just have to use Software Update to bring your system back up to date...

...another 40 minutes or so?

Oh noo all I can see is my background and dock with no folders or top apple bar and i clicked system preferences now its frozen :(

Has to be a hardware problem, then. Sorry.

You may want to try running the Apple Hardware Test - nothing like the techs have at the Apple Store or an AASP, but it may tell you something. Even if you don't get any errors, I think that it's time to take the machine to your local Apple Store (or an AASP) and have them diagnose the problem. Doesn't sound as if it's a problem with your hard drive and it may be something as simple as your SATA cable - but only the techies with their diagnostics will be able to tell.

Sorry that it's been such a grueling process with no 'fix' - we tried.
