Just wondering, does Apple cover a MacBook Pro's battery if it's under the AppleCare Protection Plan? (Covers 3 years worth)
I'm basically asking if Apple covers the Macbook Pro's battery during the 'agreement' with the AppleCare Protection....

If the battery is found to be defective, then, yes, it will be covered by AppleCare's 3-year warranty.
However, Apple considers the batteries in notebooks to be 'consumables' so if it's not found to be defective, you will be charged for a new battery.

So if the battery states "Battery needs Servicing or Battery needs replacement", will Apple cover that free of charge?

Not really. The battery is basically covered for the first year and then only if it is found, by Apple by testing, to be defective. It is considered to be a consumable item, they get used up, and is not covered because all batteries wear out at some point.

" Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your replacement coverage for a defective battery to three years from the date of your notebook purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan. However, the AppleCare Protection Plan for notebook computers does not cover batteries that have stopped working or are exhibiting diminished capacity except when it is the result of a manufacturing defect.'
