Itunes access issue

I always update itunes when notified there is a new updat available. Now when I attempt to open itunes, I receive the message that "itunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a new version of itunes". Where do I go from here to access my itunes library? I am running Windows 7 Professional.
